India Volunteer Tour Program

Our volunteer program is perfect for the participants who are looking for meaningful travel and volunteering experience in India for a short duration of 3 weeks. It gives you opportunity to work with Children Program, with Women Empowerment Program, a day with Elephant volunteer experience in Jaipur & Golden Triangle Tour which includes sites like Jaipur,  Taj Mahal Agra, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Abhaneri, Sikandra & Delhi, India.

Duration of the program: 3 Weeks.

Location: Jaipur, India.

Program Dates: All year around. 

Pick up Facility: Once you arrive in Jaipur, we will arrange a pick up facility for you and will drop you at an accommodation with an Indian Host family.

Stay with Indian family: Enjoy a homely stay at an Indian Host family house where you get a sumptuous purely vegetarian food. While you enjoy the delicious meals, you also get to know about rich Indian culture and traditions. So this will be like an exchange program where you will fall in love with Indians and feel like being one of them.

Hotel Accommodation: During the Tour Program you will be having Hotel accomodation in Agra and Delhi.

Tour Locations: Jaipur, Taj Mahal Agra, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Abhaneri, Sikandra, 4 famous places in Delhi, India.

Transportation: During the tour we arrange an air-conditioned Toyota Etios or one of the similar standards Car with well experienced English-speaking Driver.For the volunteer program we will arrange Tuk-Tuk facility so that participants can feel like Jaipur locals who use Tuk-tuk for daily transportation.

What is included: Arranging your Programme, Pre-departure information and support by email/phone, Arrival pickup from Jaipur, Program relevant materials, Accommodation with Indian Host Family during volunteer program, Hotel Accomodation in Agra and Delhi. 3 Meals ( Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner during volunteer work ), Transportation facility for project site, Weekend Sightseeing’s Tours, BreakFast at Hotel, Drop off to Delhi airport or desired location in Delhi and 24 hours of admin support.

What is not included: Internet, Mineral Water Bottle, Monument Entry Fees and any kind of personal expenses.

In this program you will work Monday to Friday. Every weekend we organise sightseeing tour of the famous Tourist Spots in Jaipur which includes Monkey Palace, Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Water Palace, Albert Museum & Birla Temple.

Below are places we will bring you once you finish the volunteering week schedule.

Abhaneri is a a village on the way from Jaipur to Agra. Abhaneri is prominent for ‘Baoris’, which are the unique invention of the natives for harvesting rain water. Amongst the other step wells, Chand Baori is the most popular one. This colossal step well is located in front of the Harshat Mata Temple. Chand Baori is one of India’s deepest and largest step wells. The huge tank with delicate carvings certainly is delightful to the eyes. Step wells are the unique concept of India. These big tanks were used as cool places of resort and water reservoir in parched days. It was a ritual to wash hands and feet before visiting the temple.

Going On the Way to Agra you can visit Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri is a fascinating ghost city built in the 16th century, 37 km from Agra.

The Taj Mahal is one of the famous finest architecture of the world. It is in a seven wonders of World and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built in (1631-1653) with the orders of Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz. 20,000 workers labored and 32 crore rupees were spent during the construction of the monument and it was built according to Islamic architecture. The meaning of Taj Mahal in English is ‘ Place of Crown ‘. Taj Means Crown and Mahal means place. Most of the People who visits Taj Mahal, Agra; they also go to visit Famous Agra Fort which is not more than 2 k.ms from Taj Mahal on same river bank. The Emperor Shah Jahan, who built Taj Mahal was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb in the Agra Fort where he had a view on the building erected for his deceased wife. Shah Jahan is said to have died in the Musamman Burj, a tower with a beautiful marble balcony. From there you probably have the best view on the Taj. Between the many pavilions, you find small well maintained gardens. After visiting the Taj Mahal we will bring you to show you the Great Agra Fort.

Sikandra – Construction of this beautiful monument was started by Akbar himself. This structure is a perfect blend of Hindu, Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, Jain motifs. But Akbar died before his mausoleum could be completed and his son Jehangir completed it.

At the end of your 2nd last days of your trip you will visit the amazing places in Delhi like India Gate, Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple which are must see tourist places of Capital City India.

Itineraries

Day 1

Volunteer Week

Today you will arrive in Jaipur. A VWI staff member will pick you up from your arrival destination and welcome you. After picking you up, we will transfer you to the host family accommodation. We will introduce you to the host family members and guide you through the accommodation facilities and your local surroundings. You will be given a run down about the project, your daily working schedule, rules and regulation of volunteering, what the dos and donts are of travelling in India are and advise you about facilities any traveller might need in a new place.

Day 2 to Day 17

Your Plan

You will be transferred to your project site. Your first day will be a learning experience, meeting new faces and seeing what your role will be. Days at the project site will include taking part in many of the activities you have read above. And maybe even a few spontaneous Bollywood dance-offs. Volunteer working days will be five days a week, Monday to Friday.

Weekends

Your Plan

The weekends are free for you to relax and enjoy the Pink City of Jaipur. Every weekend we arrange sightseeing tour of Jaipur beautiful historical places, cultural places and programs with our VWI staff team. Volunteers have opportunity to meet with other volunteers also from other projects sites as everybody gets together on these days. There are several other side trips that you can join which will greatly enhance your experience of Rajasthan, India.

Day 18

Tour Program Itinerary

Start from Jaipur in Morning proceed to visit Agra. We will pick you from your Hotel/Guest house in Jaipur through an air-conditioned Toyota Etios or one of the similar standards Car with well experienced English-speaking Driver. One the way visit Abhaneri and Fatehpur Sikri. You will reach Agra in evening. Check in to Hotel and Relax. Overnight stay at Hotel in Agra.

Day 19

Your Plan

Early morning after Breakfast Proceed to Agra, on the way visit Bird Sanctuary at Keoladeo Ghana National Park in Bharatpur and Fatehpur Sikri. Check in to Hotel in Agra in evening.

Day 20

Your Plan

Early morning visit the world-famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Back to hotel for breakfast, after breakfast we will bring you to Visit Agra fort and city tour. OveryNight at Agra Hotel.

Day 21

Your Plan

Early Morning after Breakfast proceed to Delhi which is 230 km's. On the way to Delhi Visit Sikandra. Sikandra is the mausoleum of Emperor Akbar. It represents his philosophy and secular outlook, combining the best of Hindu and Muslim architecture in a superlative fusion. Completed in 1613 A.D., it is one of the well-preserved monuments in the area. Reach New Delhi later in afternoon Visit India Gate and Buddhist Temple. After visit we will drop you to airport or your desired location in Delhi. Tour finishes in sweet memories with you.
